Flip it around!
A fun world will unfold!
“Erultuc bus” is the name of a club that isn’t easy to pronounce because it is
‘sub culture’ written backwards. Some consider it negatively as having an
Otaku stereotype with a B-grade sub-culture, but those who couldn’t enjoy
what they loved got together and created this sub-culture club. Established
in 2014, it is now celebrating its 7th year, and with a about 10 new members
joining every year, there are currently 40 members in the club.
Minor? Here, it is our joy.
Our club is where people gather to casually discuss their interests in general. Externally, we make
bulletins, and last year we made a novel as well. Normally, with sub-culture, we tend to be selfconscious.
But here in this club, we do not have to worry about what others think and just do
what we like. This is where we share our favorite hobbies and enjoy it together.
From animation to console games, all of the minor genres can be part of sub-culture
Previously, there were a lot of members who liked animation, but now it has become more
diverse. In animation, the scope of our interests has gradually become more diverse from light
novels to console games. Members of the club often get together and play games as well.
Recently, there are members who started studying liquor. They have started to become interested
not only in drinking but also learning more about liquor. Besides that, there are people who like
railway and aviation in our clubs, so basically they like minor genres. We consider all of these as
sub-culture.
“
As the club name, “Erutlucbus” is long, we
just call it “Eru” among ourselves.
”
A club with unlimited attractions, with a diverse human network, good people who can share
hobbies, and even reduce costs
As friends from different majors have gathered to share a hobby called sub-culture, the biggest
advantage is the human networking, being able to get to know a lot of people. With students
majoring in different subjects, it has created a human network, enabling us to find the right
person whenever a problem arises. Another advantage is that costs can be shared. There are
hobbies that require a lot of money for an individual to enjoy. These areas are supported by the
club, and people can enjoy these more extensive hobbies together. The light is always on here.
If someone wants to grab something to eat, friends can go together. During public holidays and
vacations when everyone heads home, friends staying in the dormitory can get together and have
fun. I really like this atmosphere. It’s a haven and a shelter.
Go,
Go, go! Together with freshmen!
Taking part now in the 1st semester would be tough. When the freshmen come during the 2nd
semester, people may feel out of place so we are preparing some activities for the freshmen.
We’re planning to host game contests using equipment in our club for ice-breaking or hosting a
drawing exhibit because there are people in our club who draw well.
